Susan Shieldkret - owner and president
Susan created The Passionate Collector™ in 2005 and in mid-2007 launched www.thepassionatecollector.com to offer online shoppers a selection of her favorite necklaces, earrings, rings, and bracelets created from base and precious metals, semi-precious gems, and pearls. The website also has a growing line of accessories, including those for men: cuff links, rings and bags. Susan's goal in developing www.thepassionatecollector.com was to offer something for everyone. The site carries everything from high-end special occasion jewelry to casual items made from recycled materials.
Although Susan designs some of the jewelry herself, the website carries primarily pieces by many different designers. The Passionate Collector looks for unique pieces you won't find everywhere else. Susan finds the designers whose work she carries in various ways -- while traveling (she started out buying pearls in China), at trade shows, through referrals, or often serendipitously by seeing something wonderful worth pursuing.
Knowing that women like to have an assortment of jewelry and accessories, Susan purposely chooses pieces that will appeal to a wide range of people and their varied tastes. www.thepassionatecollector.com serves customers in their teens all the way through their 80s.
As more and more people have found the site through word-of-mouth, Susan relishes the challenge of keeping www.thepassionatecollector.com stocked with fresh items that are distinctive and versatile.
A native of New York, Susan has lived in California since the 1980s. Today she resides in Newport Beach, California with her husband and two cats. When she is not working, she enjoys traveling, time with her family and friends, art collecting, reading, studying Italian, decorating, knitting, working out, music, theater, and film.
